UPF-AFRICA PAYS A VISIT TO PRESIDENT MACKY SALL

Senegal, Dakar - March 29, 2024; Former Senegalese President Macky Sall received a visit from the Universal Peace Federation - Africa before the end of his mandate. The delegation, led by UPF Africa co-chair Dr. Catherine Rigney, paid a courtesy visit to President Sall.
During the visit, Dr. Rigney congratulated President Macky Sall on his two terms as the head of the country and praised Senegal as a model of democracy in Africa. Dr. Rigney also commended President Sall for his contributions to peace projects, highlighting their positive impact not only on Senegal but also on the broader African continent. The meeting was a meaningful moment that underscored the strong bond between UPF and President Sall.
UBONA AFRICA HOLD CONFERENCE TO MARK AUSTRAL AFRICAN LIBERATION DAY
On 23rd March 2024, the annual celebration of THE AUSTRAL AFRICA LIBERATION DAY is held in Angola. This date marks 36 years since the end of the Battle of Cuito Cuanavale, the longest battle to take place on the African continent since the Second World War, and is now considered a bank holiday in Angola. Intending to celebrate this important date, SAWUBONA AFRICA and the Universal Peace Federation in Angola took place at the DR. ANTĂ“NIO AGOSTINHO NETO CULTURAL CENTRE, a conference open to the public and aimed more at young people to raise awareness and educate them on how to contribute to creating families that can become an example in society, fighting existing anti-values and living based on true values. | The meeting was also characterized by the appreciation of African culture, where the main costume of the participants was African cloth, without forgetting to mention the foods of our land. There was also an exhibition of books and a biography of the True Father and Mother of Peace. The main speaker at the conference was Rev. KINAMBUTA SAMBU PEDRO, Co-Chairman of the UPF and Coordinator of IAPD ANGOLA. N.B.: It is important to mention that Sawubona Africa is also a radio program on National Radio of Angola, where one of the main speakers is the Co-Chairman of UPF ANGOLA. |

SAO TOME AND PRINCIPE: INAUGURATION OF THE NEW BUILDING PURCHASED BY TRUE MOTHER TO SERVE AS THE HJ CENTER FOR EDUCATION IN THE CULTURE OF PEACE
The month of March was marked by the inauguration of the new building purchased by True Mother to serve as the HJ Center for Education in the Culture of Peace.
We should contact government authorities and lawyers to discuss the conditions for setting up this vocational education center as a social work of our movement. Although other Organizations such as the Women's Federation for World Peace and AIYSP should use the building as their headquarters, UPF was at the center of this contact with the authorities, notably the Ministry of National Education and Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Saturday, March 23, 2024, was the day of the Center's inauguration, with many local authorities, including the First Lady of the Republic, and the Minister of Youth and Sports, who was the main guest in place of the Minister of National Education.
UPF BENIN INVITED TO CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
UPF, WFWP with a new peace ambassador
On Saturday, March 23, 2024, the celebration of International Women's Day, organized by the Association des Femmes Vaillantes in collaboration with the NGO Vision Universelle, took place. The event took place at the Djégankpèvi Youth Center in Porto-Novo. After several presentations on the role of women, and how they can take charge of their lives, UPF Benin reiterated the contribution of women, alongside their husbands, in providing good education and leaving a legacy of peace and consolidation of family ties and universal values advocated by the founder of UPF, the Rev. and Mrs. Moon. The celebration ended with the distinction of an ambassador for peace, Mme Solange C. ODJO, Departmental Director of Social Affairs and Microfinance.
