The International Association of Academicians for Peace (IAAP) officially launched its Zambia chapter with an inaugural meeting held on May 21, 2025, at the Peace Embassy in Lusaka. The event brought together 13 distinguished academic leaders, all united by a common goal: promoting peace and fostering academic collaboration in Zambia.

The session opened with a prayer and featured a keynote presentation by Rev. Rudolf Faerber, who introduced the mission and global vision of IAAP and its parent body, the Universal Peace Federation (UPF). An engaging Q&A session followed, offering participants deeper insights and an opportunity to reflect on how academic communities can actively support peacebuilding efforts.

Leadership and Structure

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania — From April 1st to April 30th, 2025, the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) organized an awareness seminar at Mlimani City in Dar es Salaam. The seminar aimed to introduce UPF’s core mission and values, and to appoint new Ambassadors for Peace (AFP).

UPF Burkina Faso Promotes Peace and Social Cohesion in Toécé

On May 31, 2025, the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Burkina Faso was invited to the town of Toécé, located approximately 70 kilometers from the capital Ouagadougou, to hold a special peace event. Organized in collaboration with the local parish, this conference formed part of the preparatory activities for the parish's Golden Jubilee celebrations.

The event, attended by around 150 participants, brought together a wide array of community members, religious leaders, and civil society representatives. It began with an ecumenical prayer session led by Christian and Muslim leaders, reflecting the spirit of interfaith harmony and unity. The parish priest warmly welcomed the guests, setting the tone for an afternoon dedicated to the promotion of peace and reconciliation.

UPF Introduces Peace Principles to Traditional Healers in Tenkodogo

On February 28, 2025, a special conference was held in Tenkodogo, at the conference hall of the Regional Health Directorate of the Centre-East Region. The event was organized to introduce a group of eleven prospective Ambassadors for Peace, all members of the regional association of traditional health practitioners, to the vision and work of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF).

Participants attended three key presentations: an overview of UPF’s global activities, a report on UPF’s presence and work in Burkina Faso, and an in-depth explanation of the Five Principles of Ambassadors for Peace.
