AMBASSADORS FOR PEACE INVESTITURE CEREMONIES IN TOGO

UPF Togo organized on February 18th and 20th, 2024, Investiture Ceremonies for Ambassadors for Peace under the initiative of Rev Below for the first and Dr. GBEDJI for the second. These ceremonies were organized with the aims of preparing for the ordinary general assembly leading to the establishment of a new office for UPF-Togo; preparing quality and active Ambassadors for Peace; and reorganizing and revitalizing UPF activities. In total, 26 new Ambassadors for Peace were invested.

THE UPF FCT AMBASSADORS FOR PEACE TOOK PART IN A SPECIAL CONVOCATION IN NIGERIA ON UPF'S PRINCIPLES OF PEACE 

The UPF FCT Ambassadors for Peace held a Special Convocation on the Principles of Peace on February 24th, 2024, at the Peace Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria. The theme of the event was "Understanding the root of conflict(s) and the need for a culture of Peace." The convocation, attended by 15 individuals, began with an opening prayer led by Ambassador Abdullahi Ibrahim, followed by introductions from each participant.

Amb. Mrs. Joy G.A. Fan, UPF FCT Coordinator, gave the opening remarks, officially starting the program. A key part of the convocation was a video presentation on The Global Peace Summit organized by UPF, highlighting key activities. Dr. George Ikpot, UPF Secretary-General for Nigeria, delivered lectures on the Introduction to the Divine Principle, emphasizing its importance in a world seeking happiness amidst challenges.

Dr. Ikpot also discussed marriage and family as instruments of peace, emphasizing the significance of absolute sex in marriage and the roles of husband and wife in a blessed marriage. He highlighted the value of the blessing and presented reviewed policies and UPF projects, including the establishment of the International Association of Governors for Peace (IAGP), which excited participants.

Ambassadors for Peace shared their comments, reflections, and suggestions, leading to several recommendations. These included forming a committee to collaborate with Nigeria's electoral commission for peace orientation workshops, organizing marriage orientation seminars, ensuring spouses are well-informed about marriage and family ideals, making lecture materials available to all Ambassadors for Peace, exploring the establishment of a marriage academy and counseling platform, and organizing regular orientation and follow-up programs.

A key resolution was the decision to re-commence various activities given the transition to a new administration. The convocation concluded with a closing prayer by Bishop Aaron Dauda, emphasizing the spiritual dimension of the gathering and its focus on principles of peace.

One significant outcome of the lectures was the FCT Coordinator’s suggestion to publish a quarterly journal on Peace and Family Education, which all participants agreed could help educate families and guide youths and their guardians.

 BREAKFAST PRAYER WITH REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT IN ZAMBIA

Rev. David Isaac Phiri, FFWPU President, IAPD Zambia Chair, IAPD Vice Chair who is the spiritual advisor to the Republican President and active IAPD Committee member were invited to join other clergymen in the Breakfast Prayer for Rain (Dry spell) in Lusaka on February 16, 2024. The event was organized by Republican President and Vice President H.E Hakainde Hichilema and Her Honour Mrs. Mutale Nalumango. During the event, Rev. Phiri had a close conversation with President Hakainde Hichilema and reminded him about UPF's vision for Peace. As you may know, the Head of State has been Ambassadors for Peace for many years now.
