RECAP OF THE ASSEMBLY WITH REGIONAL AND NATIONAL LEADERS, FEATURING UPF INTERNATIONAL CHAIRMAN

Dear UPF Associates,

We are thrilled to share the highlights of a significant gathering that took place on November 29, 2023, bringing together regional and national leaders of UPF alongside the esteemed UPF International Chairman, Dr. Charles Yang.

Opening Remarks:

Man Ho Woo, Director of the International Headquarter’s Executive Office, as Master of Ceremonies, warmly greeted the assembly. The event began with an opening prayer led by Dr. Suzan Kone, International Vice-President of the Women's Federation for World Peace in Africa.

Keynote Address by Dr. Charles Yang:

Dr. Charles Yang, the International Chairman of UPF, delivered an inspiring opening message. He emphasized the profound importance of the True Parents in these transformative times and conveyed True Mother's appreciation for the dedicated efforts of leaders. Dr. Yang underscored the collaborative spirit among leaders in fulfilling the heavenly will.

Introduction of International Staff:

Mr. Man Ho Woo introduced the international staff, including Ms. Kathleen Hwang, Director of Communication; Ms. Jinju Yoo, Director of Publication at UPF HQ; and Cheon Shil Kim, the Web Manager of UPF International.

Reports and Presentations:

Dr. Kathy Rigney, UPF Africa Co-chair, welcomed the assembly and recognized Dr. Yang. Ambassador Adama Doumbia presented crucial updates on data collection, IT team reports, and various activities in UPF Africa. Representative reports from Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire showcased impactful initiatives in teacher training workshops and peace awareness summits.

IAPD Africa Report:

Dr. Paterne Zinsou, UPF Africa Secretary General, presented the IAPD Africa report, covering the official launch, Africa Spiritual Day celebrations, partnerships with the African Union, and participation in interfaith dialogue forums.

Guidelines from Dr. Charles S. Yang:

After a lively Q&A session, Dr. Charles S. Yang provided valuable guidelines, appreciating the efforts of African leaders and stressing the UPF's role in interreligious and international spheres. He stressed the importance of education, supporting and encouraging the appointment of young people as ambassadors for peace.

Conclusion:

The assembly ended and group photos were taken to commemorate this important moment.
